Supercars a unique breed of high performance Automotive. To qualify as a supercar a car must be fast but must look the part and have the brand or history to back up its name. When the word supercar is said cars will pop into a persons head, they will not be Nissan or Toyota rice rockets for the fun seeking teenager they will instead be images of Porsches or Ferraris, Lamborghinis or Aston Martins. They will be the well know, usually Italian or German cars with style, performance and a brand name to back them up, this is what I would class as a purebred supercar. The modern English dictionary does not recognise the word supercar as it is not an established word of the English language, although the word supercar is known to almost any and every person world-wide, even to people not classed as “car bores” or petrol heads” it is a word known to all of modern man kind, or at least it should be. Sure most modern supercars such as Ferrari, Porsche or Lamborghini may be priced for the rather well of, but you have to think about it, they are hand crafted masterpieces that many extremely talented enthusiasts have spent hours putting together and testing. When you buy Ferrari or Lamborghini they will have had over 200 hours of human labour poured into them, they will have had tens of thousands of dollars of highly developed, heat tested materials inserted and bolted on and then to top it off hours of fastidious testing by automotive geniuses. So next time you slag off someone driving a $500,000 Ferrari or Lamborghini don’t just slag them off as a swanker and think about the amazing piece of pure ingenuity and innovation that they are kindly showing the world.
